As it was in the beginning
The original three rink bowling green was laid down in 1923 by Mr. R.O. Warren at the northern end of the existing cricket ground, separated from the cricket outfield by a high wire fence. The first match was against Arundel in 1924.
In 1927, with a membership of 36, the Club was affiliated with the Sussex County Bowling Association.
In 1955 the green had only 2 playable rinks, and in 1965 a lease for the present ground was granted by the Parish Council. |
